Green Mango Chutney Recipe | Manga Chammanthi
Mango Chutney orManga Chammanthias called in Malayalam is a spicy tangy chutney. Prepared with raw mango, coconut and commonly available ingredients, goes very well with rice or rice poridge.
The taste of this chutney depends mainly on how sour the mango is. So, you can decrease or increase the amount of grated coconut used. Green Mango Chutney is very nutritious and can be a good addition to your daily meal.
My mom always tries to include a chutney to go along with a meal. Try this mango chutney and let me know how it turned out for you.
How to make Raw Mango Chutney:
- Wash, deseed and chop the mangoes finely. Peeling the skin. As I used home grown, I didnt peel the skin. That’s why my raw mango chutney is looking greenish.
- It will taste better without skin.
- Chop onion. Add all the ingredients into a blender and grind to a smooth paste by adding water little at a time. Serve

Ingredients
- 2 nos Mangoes size of our palm or 5-6 small mangoes yielded 1 +1/3 cup when chopped
- 1 cup grated coconut or handful of peanuts / almonds / cashews
- 1 handful Pudina or Coriander or 1 spring of curry leaves
- 1 large Onion
- 3 nos Green chillies
- 1 inch ginger
- 4 cloves Garlic small
- Salt as per taste approx. 1.5 tsp
- 1 pinch Sugar fat
