Now, let me tell you few facts about boiled peanuts. Though boiled peanuts are made from raw or green peanuts, that have been boiled in salty water, creating a legume flavor, dried peanuts can also be used. Compared to dry(oil) roasted or raw peanuts, boiled peanuts are lower in fat and calories, making them a healthy addition to your diet. Contains higher amount of anti oxidants that protect your cells from free radical damage, reducing the risk of chronic illnesses like heart disease and cancer.
I used dried peanuts , which takes much longer time for cooking as compared to the raw peanuts. To ease the process, you can soak the dried peanuts overnight and later pressure cook it for about 10 -15 minutes or till its soft to your desire.
How to make boiled peanut chaat or masala peanut chaat :
Raw mango and tomato will make it enough sour, so you can avoid using lemon juice.
The quantity of the ingredients can also vary depending on your choice. There’s no exact recipe to follow.
Boiled Peanut Chaat | Masala Peanut Chaat
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Boiled peanuts
- 1 nos Tomato finely chopped
- 1 nos Onion finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Cucumber finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Coconut chopped into thin pieces fresh
- 1/4 cup Raw mango finely chopped
- 1-2 nos Green chillies
- 1/2 tsp Chaat masala
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- Lemon juice
- Pudina leaves finely chopped
- Coriander leaves finely chopped
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients well in a mixing bowl.Not necessary, you have to have all these ingredients.
- Serve it in a serving bowl and enjoy!!
