Boiled peanuts itself make a great snack for weight watchers, enjoyed all over the world. Boiled peanut chaat is one of the street foods among all others served all over India. Street foods make me nostalgic. It’s been a part of my college life, when we rarely use to save little space for a complete meal. Everyday I had to pass these small shops which was much difficult to avoid. And I end up enjoying it 🙂

Now, let me tell you few facts about boiled peanuts. Though boiled peanuts are made from raw or green peanuts, that have been boiled in salty water, creating a legume flavor, dried peanuts can also be used. Compared to dry(oil) roasted or raw peanuts, boiled peanuts are lower in fat and calories, making them a healthy addition to your diet. Contains higher amount of anti oxidants that protect your cells from free radical damage, reducing the risk of chronic illnesses like heart disease and cancer.

I used dried peanuts , which takes much longer time for cooking as compared to the raw peanuts. To ease the process, you can soak the dried peanuts overnight and later pressure cook it for about 10 -15 minutes or till its soft to your desire.
